Librarian I
KICD 9
One (1) Post
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following:
·         Supervise selection, verification, classification, cataloguing of materials/documents;
·         Oversee books reservations and recalling overdue books
·         Conducting online information searches and serial controls
·         Ensuring maintenance of shelf arrangement;
·         Offering reference services and library user education
Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade an applicant must have:
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (minus)
·         Diploma in Library Studies/ Information Science from a recognized institution
·         Served in the grade of Librarian II or in a relevant and comparable position in the Library profession for a minimum period of three (3) years
·         Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
·         Proficient in computer use and application
·         Initiative, team player and highly motivated
Librarian II
KICD 8

One (1) Post
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following:

·         Reference services
·         Offering library user education

For appointment to this grade an applicant must have:
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (minus)
·         Diploma in Library Studies/ Information Science from a recognized institution
·         Served in the grade of Librarian III or in a relevant and comparable position in the Library profession for a minimum period of three (3) years
·         Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
·         Proficient in computer use and application
·         Initiative, team player and highly motivated
