Jubilee plans to change the Constitution to make UHURU a dictator? KINDIKI’s tongue slips

... perform his duties more effectively.

The Jubilee Senator noted that some clauses in the new Constitution have compromised Uhuru’s powers to act directly on challenges facing his Government, especially corruption.

He said unless and until the President is given immense powers to deal with looters himself, the war against corruption will never be won.

“It is very unfortunate that the President has no direct hand in punishing officials implicated I corruption.”

“The bodies that have been given mandate seem to be reluctant in investigating and prosecuting corrupt officials,” said Kindiki.

  1. Very unfortunate statement coming not only from a Professor, a Senator, a Lawyer but also Kenyan Elite.

  2. CORRUPT CASES ARE HOLDING OUR PRESIDENT HOSTAGE. THE PRESIDENT HAS BEEN SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE OPPOSITION AND THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRUPTION. THE OPPOSITION WILL ONLY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME FOR PUSHING THE PRESIDENT TO THE WALL THINKING THEY ARE PAVING WAY FOR THEIR PRESIDENTIAL CHANCE TO WIN. THE CONSTITUTION HAS TO BE CHANGED.

  3. There is no other country which operates in a circus like Kenya. No one has powers in Kenya going by our constitution, we are just going in circles. We must give the president powers so as to hold him squarely responsible. The IG and the CJ also should be given powers over the actions of their subordinates. It's only five years, if the powers are misused we vote them out like any other country. The parliament is the representative of the people it must have powers over judiciary. Someone cheated Kenyans to have a constitution which assumes everybody is a responsible citizen and we can learn the country by consensus- it can't work like this.
