Jubilee on brink of collapse as 300 leaders claim UHURU/ RUTO have preferred candidatesCounty Politics, News 02:07
Sunday, November 20, 2016 - Aspirants eying various seats in the Jubilee Party have expressed fears of skewed nominations for the 2017 General Election.
Addressing the press on Friday, over 300 aspirants for various seats in Nakuru County alone claimed Jubilee was planning to rig in some candidates.
They noted that they have information that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, have their preferred candidates for various seats and would do anything to have them secure party tickets.
Led by Peter Rutto, who is eying the Kuresoi South Parliamentary seat, the aspirants challenged Uhuru/ Ruto to assure them of a level playing field or else thing will never be the same again.
They also demanded to be involved in deciding the nomination fees and all party activities before and after the primaries.
“As aspirants, we do not want a situation where we are left out in making key decision that will affect us. We need to be involved,” said Rutto.
