Sunday, November 20, 2016 - The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has asked the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) to take action against Jeff Koinange Live’s presenter, Jeff Koinange, for allowing firebrand lawyer, Miguna Miguna, to sexually assault his competitor on live TV.
In a statement to the press on Thursday evening, FIDA Kenya chairperson, Josephine Mong’are, condemned Mr Miguna’s comments against Ms Passaris as violence against women’s rights.
FIDA asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to enforce the electoral Code of Conduct and protect women candidates from violence.
Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero, also wrote to MCK to complain about the show saying Jeff Koinange allowed Mr Miguna to call him a thief on live TV and therefore failed to uphold his journalist duties.
Meanwhile, Passaris has vowed to sue Miguna for referring her to a socialite bimbo.
Calling Mr Miguna a loud and obnoxious man, she said this is not the first time he had attacker her but this time, she had lost patience with him.
