CJ MARAGA is ‘draining the swamp’ just like MUTUNGA - See what he did in Kakamega.

Sunday, November 20, 2016 - Chief Justice, David Maraga, was surprised on Friday when he visited Kakamega Law Courts and found the premises locked.

The CJ was on an impromptu visit to the court and he found senior judicial officers were not at work because they are attending a training in Eldoret until Saturday.

“There should have been skeleton staff to attend to the peoples’ needs,” Maraga said, adding that a duty officer must be at the station during working hours.

He also said he will order a reshuffle or interdiction of officers who are messing the Judiciary by absconding their duties and engaging in corruption.

Maraga later paid Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya a courtesy call at his office.

The CJ said they discussed the construction of more courts in the County and the Governor said the County will provide land in Lugari, Likuyani and Navakholo sub counties.

Oparanya said the County will also find land for a children’s remand home.

“We are ready to do so, so that arrested juveniles do not mix with hardcore criminals,” he said.
