That interview where Al Jazeera’s MEHDI put AMINA MOHAMED in awkward positions

Monday, October 10, 2016 - Last week, Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Amb. Amina Mohamed, was on Aljazeera’s ‘Upfront’ show.

Host Mehdi Hassan put her to task over a number of issues.

Firstly, Mehdi sought to know if Kenya is gaining ground in the war against Somali based militant group, Al Shabaab, after several retaliatory attacks in Kenya leaving several dead.

He then tried to pin her down by asking her the exact number of soldiers who were killed in El Adde but she darted around.

On extrajudicial killings in Kenya, Amina denounced a damning report by the civil society claiming it is all made up.

She said: “They’re making it up. That’s all false. Interview them. Honestly they haven’t talked to me. I haven’t seen the report. They haven’t spoken to anybody,”

  1. I think she lost it.

  2. Agree she lost it, trying to cover for jubilee failure and poor governance. This is how Kenyan journalists should do their interviews.
