Friday October 28, 2016 - Auditor General, Edward Ouko, is back in the country after a one week official visit to the United States where he was investigating the Sh 250 billion Eurobond puzzle.
According to sources, Ouko who was accompanied by three forensic experts left the country on Thursday last week even after President Uhuru Kenyatta opposed his visit.
Ouko visited JP Morgan, the Federal Reserve Bank, City Transaction Services of New York, JP securities, Barclays Bank, ICB Standard Bank and Qatar National Bank where he scrutinized the trail of Eurobond proceeds.
“We expect to benefit more from the report they come up with, I hope it will unravel the whole puzzle and give Kenyans a clear picture of the funds trail,” said one of the AG’s close confidante.
The President has maintained that the Eurobond money was used prudently to the last coin but Raila says that the funds meant for key infrastructural projects were squandered by senior Jubilee officials.
