JOHO forced to cut his speech and scamper for safety as his people reject and heckle himEditor's Choice 11:33
Saturday, October 1, 2016 - Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is still recovering from an unexpected shock on Thursday after his own people rejected him in broad daylight in Mombasa.
Mombasa residents booed and heckled Joho during the official opening of Aldina-Jomvu Carbro access road, forcing the ODM Governor, who recently acquired the name ‘Superman’ due to his mobilization capabilities and ability to charm crowds, to cut short his speech.
It all began after two rival groups supporting aspirants for the Jomvu Parliamentary seat started heckling, chanting and singing praises for their camps.
And when he rose to address the charged crowd, Joho was caught in the crossfire as both camps booed and heckled him as well forcing him to cut his speech short.
Efforts by Joho to plead with the crowd to act with civility ended up in smoke as they kept chanting and heckling him.
“Okay, I will give you time to heckle and when you are done, please tell me know so that I may finish my speech," Joho pleaded.
Joho eventually completed his speech after the heckles subsided.
