It’s over for UHURU/ RUTO in Western as Luhya MPs who defected to Jubilee ditch partyCounty Politics, News 23:45
Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, appear to be losing ground in Western Kenya over the mega corruption scandals that have rocked the Jubilee Government, with the latest being the health scandal in which rogue individuals, including Uhuru’s relatives, looted a whopping sh5 billion from the Ministry of Health.
This is after MPs who had ditched ODM to join Jubilee in Kakamega County rescinded their decision and threw weight behind Raila Odinga’s party.
The MPs, Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo) and Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani) also abandoned Jubilee Party’s Gubernatorial aspirants, Prof. Amukowa Anangwe and Suleiman Sumba, for ODM’s Wycliffe Oparanya.
The MPs declared that they will work with Oparanya and vowed to campaign for him in 2017.
The MPs were speaking in Deputy President William Ruto’s house when they accompanied Oparanya to meet him.
