I have no apologies to make to anyone for being a billionaire - RUTO to RAILA ODINGA.Other Political News, Politics 14:12
Saturday, October 1, 2016 - Deputy President William Ruto has said that he has no apologies to make for being born in a poor family and later joining a list of billionaires in Kenya.
Speaking during an interview on K24 on Wednesday evening, Ruto said that CORD leader, Raila Odinga, has been using a false narrative to propagate that he was corrupt.
He said Raila doesn’t believe that a son of a hustler can make it to be the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya and one of the richest men in Kenya.
Ruto said he can account for every shilling in his account and urged Raila Odinga to understand that hard work and determination can make somebody rich.
"I can account for any shilling I have and every step I have made both as an individual and a politician," Ruto said.
He urged Raila Odinga to take him to court if he thinks he has stolen any public money.
“I want to tell Raila that I am not what he wants people to believe I am. I work very hard and if I was corrupt I would be in jail by now,” said Ruto.
