Wednesday October 19, 2016 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued four demands that the newly sworn Chief Justice, David Maraga, must accomplish as he takes his new office.

Speaking in State House today, Uhuru told Maraga to ensure that the backlog of corruption cases at the Judiciary was cleared immediately.

"Clear the more than 600 corruption cases pending in courts.”

“Kenyans want to see cases concluded quickly," Uhuru stated.

Secondly, Justice Maraga was tasked to ensure that Kenyans languishing in remand cells were accorded justice and their cases fast-tracked.
