Even KALENJINs are tired with RUTO and Jubilee - See what they did to him on FridayEditor's Choice, Forum and discussion 00:07
Saturday, 29 October 2016 - Deputy President Willam Ruto was embarrassed on Friday by Elgeyo Marakwet residents after they walked out of a meeting he was to address.
The incident happened in Baringo where Ruto had gone to mediate peace between Marakwet residents after the recent tribal attacks that have claimed many lives.
The moment of pain came to Ruto when Marakwet residents left the venue in a hurry just a few minutes before he addressed local residents.
“We cannot have a meeting with the Pokot when one of our own is still in the mortuary. Our culture does not even allow us to meet with the Pokot,” Marakwet leaders said.
Efforts by Marakwet West MP, William Kipsang, to tame the discord and avoid the shame turned futile as no peace deal was sealed.
Ruto left the venue in a hurry to avoid further embarrassment.
