Death strikes UHURU’s ‘family’ as it loses a politician - This may affect Jubilee in 2017

Friday October 28, 2016 - The ruling Jubilee Party has suffered a heavy loss following the untimely death of one of its dependable politicians.

Baringo Member of County Assembly (MCA) Peter Kimani Kagathi died on Wednesday morning in Nakuru County after short illness.

Kimani, who represented Mumberes/ Maji Mazuri Ward, had been hospitalized at a Nakuru Hospital for three weeks with high blood pressure before he died on Wednesday.

Baringo County Speaker, Bill Kamket, eulogized Kimani as a leader who stood for the rights of other people.

Kimani was elected in 2013 on The National Alliance (TNA) Party ticket, and was among the few leaders who defended the rights of minority Kikuyu community in Baringo County. He was also a strong supporter of the new Jubilee Party and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid in 2017.

Before his death, Kimani was the chairman of the Agriculture Committee in Baringo County.
