Corruption will kill UHURU/RUTO’s men - KIUNJURI in another multi-billion ScandalOther Political News, Politics 00:13
Saturday, 29 October 2016 - Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has warned that another multi-billion scandal could be in the offing at the Devolution Ministry.
Speaking on Thursday, Mudavadi said that the scandal involves cash transfer to the elderly people and orphans where senior Devolution Ministry officials have allocated billions to fictitious names instead of assisting old and the orphans.
“There are complaints by the elderly that they are not receiving their monthly stipends. Because many are illiterate, they are often turned away under false claims their fingerprints don’t match the record given,” Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi, who is also the former Sabatia MP, petitioned the President to launch an investigation of the looming scandal in the Devolution Ministry.
He also said the announcement by Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri, that the Government will use Sh 1.5 billion to buy cattle in drought stricken Counties is one way of stealing public money.
“When Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri cheekily and casually says Sh 1.5 billion has been allocated to buy and slaughter weak cows for people to eat, it is a sure pointer to how plunder is being planned amidst misplaced priorities,” said Mudavadi.
