By-elections loom as RAILA kicks out 8 MPs and Governor who defected to UHURU’s Jubilee

Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga met top ODM officials to ratify the expulsion of eight MPs and a Governor who defected to the Jubilee Party, which President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, will use to seek re-election.

The ODM National Executive Council (NEC) met yesterday and adopted a report by its disciplinary committee to de-register 8 out of the 13 rebel politicians.

The move now leaves room for several by-elections and it now remains to be seen if  the expelled rebels will be make it back on Jubilee Party tickets.

Among those who were expelled are Kwale Governor Salim Mvuyra, Kisii Deputy Governor, Joash Maangi, and Kwale Women Representative, Zainab Chidzuga.

Others include MPs, Gideon Mungaro (Kilifi North), Mustafa Idd (Kilifi South), Stephen Kariuki (Mathare), James Rege (Karachuonyo), Samuel Arama (Nakuru West).
