Mr. Muriithi claimed that Kipyegon pulled a gun at him and ordered him to give him the money which he says was proceeds from a land sale.
However, Kipyegon has insisted that he never took the money.
A detective dealing with the case said:
"He surrendered to us at about 6am.”
“What he has told us is that he just alighted from the vehicle and did not take the bag alleged to have the Sh3.5 million the Governor says he robbed him at gun point.”
