“A quick review of my late brother’s case reveals that the judge was biased. Justice Maraga admitted evidence which even a basic magistrate cannot entertain. As a family, we felt this was a miscarriage of justice,” said Langat.
“I don’t know Jubilee’s position on the matter but as a person who was aggrieved by the judge’s ruling, I will be opposing his nomination during his vetting in Parliament because if Justice Maraga could not deliver justice in the murder case, how can Kenyans be assured that he will deliver justice to the whole country as Chief Justice,” he said.
Maraga reduced the murder case of Too to manslaughter and sentenced Andrew Moeche and his accomplices to 10 years in prison.
