Is UHURU planning to use his father’s tactics to abolish devolution? RUTO spills beans00:00
.... interview at a local radio station, Ruto said Jubilee wants to weaken the devolved system of governance by abolishing the Senate.
He noted that the dissolution of smaller parties to form Jubilee Party was the first step in a wider scheme to abolish the Senate.
“What we are seeing is the same thing that happened after independence, where parties were convinced to dissolve, join KANU and thereafter Senators were convinced that Senate was not important and were given direct nominations to the National Assembly,” said Ruto.
“They want to abolish the Senate after killing political parties and there after they will target the County Governments and weaken them with the aim of telling Kenyans that the devolved system of governance is not working,” he said.
