SHOCKING! MIKE SONKO claims he alerted the NSIS over WESTGATE AL SHABAAB ATTACK three months ago

Wednesday September 25, 2013 - Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, has sensationally claimed that he alerted the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) of an impending attack on key areas in Nairobi including the Westgate Mall, three months ago.

Addressing the Senate on Tuesday, Sonko said security organs in Kenya and senior intelligence officers were aware of the Westgate attack.

Sonko claimed that he had helped two women of Arabic origin who told him that they have credible information of Al Shabaab militiamen who are targeting sections of Nairobi.

Sonko said the women had approached him three months ago with information to the effect that the gang, which had rented a house in Parklands and Westlands, were planning a major attack in the capital city.

“They mentioned Westgate Mall, Village Market, Parliament and the Kenyatta International Conference Centre as their targets,” Sonko said adding that he informed senior people in the NSIS.

He said that after getting the reports, he recorded statements with the police and the intelligence officers for further investigations.

Sonko said the two women were initially living with the gang in the rented houses but had escaped after being showed the items that the suspects were preparing for the attack.

He said he will reveal more information once he is called by police to record a statement over his assertions.

“I know I will shock many people here. These people have remained in this area planning the attack for about three months and despite the investigators getting that information they could not quell the attack,” Sonko said.

  1. Wonders never cease!

  2. The buck stops with NIS. No excuse is good enough for the attack leveled on Westgate Mall.
