HAIYA!!! Homa Bay County sets aside Sh 10 MILLION to build Governor’s MANSIONCounty Politics, News 09:06
Friday, the 21st 0f June 2013 - A leaked report of the Homa Bay County Assembly budget committee has brought to light the fact that the County plans to spend Sh 10 million to build a house for its Governor.
The report also revealed that the County has allocated Sh 7.5 million to build a similar residence for the Deputy Governor.
The construction of the two houses is reportedly an attempt to reduce time and commuting costs for the Governor, Cyprian Awiti, and his deputy Hamilton Onyango.
The County Assembly budget also approved to spend Sh 22 million to buy cars for Awiti and Onyango who are currently using their personal cars.
It’s not just Awiti and Onyango who are getting new ‘toys’ though because the county also plans to spend Sh 70 million to buy 10 Prados for the members of the Executive Council.
The county also plans to spend an additional Sh 2.5 million to construct a gym for the Ward Representatives.
Leadership is truly a sacrifice.
