Billionaire MUTULA KILONZO’s family organises a fundraiser - funeral to cost Sh 15 MILLION

Monday May 6, 2013 - The family of late Mutula Kilonzo has announced that there will be a fundraising today at All Saints Cathedral, to try to settle the hospital bills for the late Makueni Senator.

Although Mutula lived a lavish life, questions are lingering on how his family can conduct a fundraiser to pay his hospital and funeral expenses.

Mutula, who was a brilliant lawyer, had immense wealth accumulated to a tune of several billions.

Besides a number of ranches under his name, the late Senator has several properties and a successful law firm.

Reportedly, late Mutula’s salary for the past 10 years was collected by Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), to pay up tax dues in the region of Sh 300 to Sh 800 million.

Guided by the above facts, it is clearly evident that the fundraiser is not to finance his funeral expenses, but to pay his tax arrears which are into the tune of hundreds millions.

According to a close family member, Mutula’s funeral expenses are Sh 15 million
Mutula Kilonzo died on April 27th and he will be buried at his Woyani home in Makueni County

His death still remains mystery, although heart attack has been ruled out as one of the possible cause of his death.

Look at what Kenyans online said about this fundraiser>>>>

@WanjikuRevolt Fundraiser for Mutula Kilonzo's funeral? A billionaire? Wonders will never cease!
@MuthuriKinyamu If Mutula spent 700K to feed 3 lions a month, 200K for a weekend at his Maanzoni home then why the burial fundraiser?

@makodingo Why is there a fundraiser complete with an MPESA playbill number for Mutula's funeral??

@StephenKanili That crude joke of a fundraiser for Mutula....Really???

@ItsLynnie OK, not to be crass or anything but tbh, I don't understand why Mutula's family is having a fundraiser to offset his funeral expenses.

@walalr Wtf is Mutula Kilonzo's fam holding a fundraiser for?!" For a guy who spent 200k every weekend?!!

4.You would think such a brilliant mind would have made some plans for his last rites
    5. What is point of budgetting for 15 million, if you dont have it. Do the reverse. Establish how much you have and then spend only that...ie live within your means, thats how the majority of us survive

  35. Abig joke for the whole thing

  36. If the belief in Kamba land is to fundraise for members of their community towards burial expenses including billionaires, then, the appeal should have been run in a Kamba radio station.

Mutula was a Billionaire, IF this fund raising was done with the approval of Keithi & Mutula Jr. ,SHAME on them!I single out these two because they live in Kenya & they know the cost of living here, they should be ashamed of themselves knowing full well that more than 90% of Kenyans will never aquire the wealth or live the kind of previlleged life their late father lived. SHAME ON YOU KEITHI & Jr SHAME!!

  49. Kenyans get serious and have a funeral policy and life cover like south african does i will never contribute for a funeral en i dont expect anyone to do it for me simple have a policy which will bury you and leave something for your family stupid kenyans or u do is yup yup yup

Because of the love i have for you nitachanga. R.I.P Mutush

  53. They can sell some lions and some tortoises. If they will not be able to take care of them like he did, then they can sell all of them to get all the money they want.It all sounds like a big joke.

  59. All that glitters is not gold. Read the body language of the kin - that's all you have to do. May they find peace. Kenyan men need to get their affairs in order. I hope this great lawyer did, but I have my doubts. If that 23 year old is legit then there will be more drama as that will signal his character. Or lack there-of!

  60. Funeral directors play a vital role during funeral arrangements and funeral planning.
