UPDATE: UHURU and RAILA neck and neck as results start to pour in….
Politics 08:41
Monday,
the 4th of March 2013 - Anyone who scoffed at the
predictions saying this election will be a two horse between Jubilee’s Uhuru
Kenyatta and CORD’s Raila Odinga must be eating their shoes right now.
The IEBC’s giant screen at the
central tallying station at Bomas right now is leaving no one in doubt that
either Uhuru or Raila will be the next President of Kenya.
So far Uhuru is in the lead but
just barely. At the time of posting the Jubilee flag bearer has 402,944 (57.36%)
of the vote count so far released while Raila has 274,476 votes (38.86%). At
this point it’s important to note that only 5% of the polling stations have
released their results.
The rest of the field is hardly
getting a look in. Most of them are still in the single digits. In fact only
the Amani coalition’s Musalia Mudavadi has made it to 2%.
More updates to follow.
