Police arrest CID officer for CRIME SPREE in Nairobi

Monday, the 18th of March 2013 - The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt that police officers in Nairobi last night arrested a CID officer said to have been the head a crime gang that carried out many big heists in the city.

The CID officer was arrested with three other suspects. The CID officer in question is said to be based at the CID headquarters in Nairobi. The officer and his gang is alleged to have robbed Joseph Nasio Kangu of Sh213, 000 and camera last month.

Dagoretti OCPD Mathew Gwiyo, while confirming the arrest of the CID officer, said that several of the gang’s victims had already positively identified the officer.

In unrelated news, two wagons of a passenger train are said to have derailed near the Sarang’ombe area of Kibera this morning.

Kilimani OCPD Bernard Muli, while confirming the incident, said that nobody was injured when the eight-wagon train lost two of its wagons.
