OFFICIAL: Swearing of President UHURU KENYATTA and WILLIAM RUTO is on April 7

Thursday March 21, 2013 - As millions of Kenyans wait for the final verdict of the Supreme Court regarding the CORD petition, the Government has formally announced that the official swearing on of President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta will be on April 7th at Kasarani International Stadium.

Although, the information was not conveyed to the press, invite cards have already been sent to dignitaries who will attend the event.

The cards indicate that President- elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will be officially sworn in between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm at Kasarani Stadium.

Also a source from the government said staff from the Government printer are working round the clock printing the invite cards listing Uhuru Kenyatta as the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Among those invited are Uganda President Yoweri Museveni, Tanzania President   Mrisho Kikwete, Rwanda President Paul Kagame, Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, Sudan President Salva Kiir and former US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Mrs Jendayi Frazer among others.

This comes amid a Court petition filed by Raila Odinga, who is challenging Uhuru Kenyatta’s win, saying he was rigged in by the IEBC officials.

The case is at the Supreme Court and hearing starts next week.

The big question is; does the government know the outcome of the Supreme Court? If not, why then are they sending invite cards listing Uhuru as President?
