UHURU KENYATTA prophecy - KIKUYU ELDERS to perform rituals at the fallen ‘MUGUMO’ tree site.News 23:55
Tuesday February 12th 2013 - Elders in Nyeri are planning to perform rituals at the scene of over 200 years old ‘mugumo’ tree which fell a couple of days ago leaving the local speculating about the significance of the incident.
Led by Samuel Kamitha, the director of Gikuyu and Mumbi Cultural Centre, the elders held several sittings with Mr. Gichuki Irungu on whose farm the tree stood to get more information about the tree in order to help them with the ritual arrangement which according to the elders will include planting of another tree.
Inclined to the Kikuyu traditions, the elders observed that the falling of the ‘mugumo’ tree was a sign of good things to come not only to the Kikuyu’s but to the entire country. The good things according to them is generational change traditionally known as ‘ituika’ which signifies change in leadership. Most political pundits read this as Uhuru’s time to make President but that remains to be seen.
In their preparations, the leaders also resolved to call in the group of elders who last November held a Kikuyu traditional ceremony where seven gourds were broken to retreat to Mt Kenya for prayer thereafter conduct the traditional ceremony that includes sacrifices at the scene.
