UHURU KENYATTA beat RAILA ODINGA and won the Presidential Debate – IPSOS SYNOVATE

the 13th of February 2013 - According to a new poll by
pollster Ipsos Synovate, Jubilee alliance flag bearer Uhuru Kenyatta was by far
and away the clear winner of last Monday’s Presidential debate.
The poll that sampled 1074 people says Uhuru won the debate
with a 37% while his closest rival Prime Minister Raila Odinga of CORD only
impressed 23% of the people who watched the debate.
Based on the new Ipsos poll, Uhuru managed to convince 40%
of Kenyans to vote for him while Raila’s display on Monday night impressed 33%
of Kenyans that he is the right man for the job.
The rest of the field shared the slim pickings with Peter
Kenneth getting 7%, Musalia Mudavadi 4% and Martha Karua 2% .7% are still undecided.
Releasing the poll results on the Presidential debate, Ipsos
consultant Tom Wolf was careful to add that the poll was not scientifically
representative of the whole nation and was only relevant to show how those who
paid attention to the debate are leaning;
“We cannot conclude who is leading nationally but among those
who watched Uhuru Kenyatta is leading,” he said.
On individual questions, 25% of Kenyans say Uhuru handled
the ICC question well while, 17% say Raila made the best argument.
On the question of the education standards in the country,
the clear winner was Prof James Ole Kiyiapi with 18%.
Meanwhile 97% of Kenyans said they were satisfied with the
presidential debate.
