GLORIA MULIRO on being EXPOSED …. I am not a LIAR or THIEF

Friday,
February 15, 2013 - It’s been a bad week for gospel award winning
singer Gloria Muliro after her fans bashed her for allegedly plagiarizing a
song. The track in question is the recently released song Follow you which is copied from Chris Tomlin’s I will follow.
And finally Gloria has spoken out about the track through
her Facebook page and said that she did not steal the lyrics as she found
inspiration for the song from the Bible verse Ruth 1:16-17 which she quoted:
But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge
me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you
stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you
die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it
ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” NIV
She then went forth to quote the lyrics of the
track which definitely are not similar to the Tomlin’s lyrics since hers are in
Swahili. What she did not say is that she actually stole the tune for the track
which is very similar.
