8 killed in Makueni road ACCIDENT


Sunday, the 10th of February 2013 - The Kenyan DAILY POST has confirmed that at least eight people were killed in a road accident last evening along the Tawa-Kikima-Utangwa-Kyambalasi road.

The accident reportedly happened when the driver of a construction truck lost control of the vehicle. While confirming the incident, Mbooni East District OCPD Mr Philip Ouma said that among the dead are six construction workers attached to the Victory Construction Company and two children who had gotten a lift back home.

Ouma revealed that among the dead is a man of Asian origin. According to the OCPD two of the people in the truck had survived the accident only to succumb to their injuries at the Machakos Level 5 Hospital.

The accident is said to have happened some minutes after 7 last evening when the driver of the truck lost control of it causing it to roll around several times before it landed in a ditch.
