December 24, 2012 - A Section of MPs allied to Deputy Prime Minister
Musalia Mudavadi have blamed Eldoret North MP William Ruto for Mudavadi’s exit
from the Jubilee alliance.
Led by Housing minister Soita Shitanda, the MPs said Ruto
who is also the United Republican Party (URP) leaders had the authority to
ensure there was unity in the alliance but he did not.
The MPs were
addressing a campaign rally at Matete grounds in Malava District, where they
said Ruto, as a key member of the alliance, should have prevailed upon his
counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta to honour the deal he signed to avoid a fall out.
“Ruto has shown that he does not believe in his URP party’s
slogan of kusema na kutenda,” Shitanda said.
“If he is a strong believer of this slogan, then he should
have ensured that Uhuru abides by the deal he appended his signature
on.”Shitanda added.
The Minister said UDF and Mudavadi will still make an impact
in the forthcoming general election, despite being axed in the Jubilee
coalition.
