Friday, 07/09/2012 - Local recording
studio, Calif records is scaling greater heights. This is despite the departure
of key personalities such as Kendi and Qtasi.
Calif is planning to ship in equipment worth half a million
shillings. The equipment includes microphones and mixers meant to boost the
quality of music and image of the recording studio.
Calif clarified that they are not closing the studio even with
the exit of some key persons formerly associated with Calif. Jua Cali who is
one of the founders of the studio insisted that he is going nowhere and is in
Calif to stay.
Calif’s manager, Thomas Mahondo claimed that their competitors
were claiming that Calif was closing house on a malicious basis. The studio
claimed that it is open and anyone who wants to start recording music should
touch base with them. This latest development has put Calif on a higher ground
to favourably compete with music houses such as Ogopa DJs and Ulopa.
