The Standard Group poaching from the People Daily

Friday, August 10, 2012 - Longonot House the home of Mediamax’s the People Daily is awash with activities as sub editors and reporters are being poached by the Standard Group which is trying to revive itself amid stiff competition from other media houses.

Last week Mwaniki Munuhe a top reporter at the People Daily handed over his resignation letter after signing of a deal with the Standard Group.

Apparently the Standard Group is eyeing reporters Wanjohi Gitahi, sub-editor Dinag Ondari and another reporter from the same newspaper in a move to bring together a strong political team ahead of the anticipated March 2013 elections.

Word on the street has it that Mediamax CEO Paul Wanyagah is working round the clock to retain some of the best talents in the daily newspaper as the poaching continues.
