The SHAKE-UP at the Standard Group – More to follow MELLY
Media News 09:33
Friday, August 10, 2012 - Sam Shollei, the newly
appointed Standard Group C.E.O. has said that he is ready to take office,
following the dishonorable dismissal of former deputy chairman and C.E.O. Paul
Melly. Shollei is said to be headed for standard group and will ship at least 6
managers from Nation Media Group with him.
Melly was dismissed by former president Moi due to mishandling the
Mombasa road office. Some of the managers and employees of Standard group have
since the dismissal been hunting for jobs elsewhere as they fear Moi’s fury.
Melly is expected to leave office in the next 6 months but it seems he will
have to leave earlier.
One of the employees hunting for jobs elsewhere is Njoki
Ngaroiya, it is claimed that she was involved in a scandal where good and
talented employees in Standard were denied contract renewal.
Shollei has a long history with former President Moi. He is
known for selling broadcast frequencies to Nation Media Group which he had
received as a gift for serving his employer, Transnational Bank of Kenya, whose
shareholders included the former president, his son Gideon, his personal aide
Joshua Kulei, and former Minister Nicholas Biwott.
Shollei holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and
Bachelor of Commerce and a Certified Public Accountant – CPA (K) topped up with
20 years corporate leadership experience in diversified sectors including media,
banking, energy and consultancy.

Just look at there website, it shows you how they are poor in IT technology. That website has no lead of navigation and access of links. They should train and hire good developers and not employ people by nepotism.
