Wednesday, 04/07/12 – Kenya’s PM and Presidential
aspirant Raila Amollo Odinga is a man who has unflinching confidence in his
victory on the race to state house. With this in mind, Buni Media, the proud
producers of the XYZ Show did a perfect rap video .
The group has
uploaded a hilarious music video on YouTube. It stars Raila and his allies busy
rapping on Dr Dre's 2001 smash hit ‘Still Dre’.
The Prime Minister
is dressed youthfully, with bling as he raps over beats from the original song,
The remix is a counter-attack to those who claim that he has lost his
popularity due to the defections from the ODM party.
Some of the catchy
lines are like, “Unacampaign and there is not much
change…still getting getting kuras in the Steadman’s Poll” (You campaign,
and there is still not much change... I’m still getting votes in the Steadman’s
Poll.) . “Grand coalition, teargas…Nyayo
torture chambers, I’m the oldest member…”
On the background
one Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Raila continues to assert that he
is unbwogable
Barely a week old,
the video already has 21,000 hits. XYZ’s mixture of political satire and parody
is gaining a sizable following while showcasing Kenyan creativity.
